Ai-Media is looking for experienced live stenocaptioners to provide high quality captioning. The postion will initially be based on site in our North Ryde office; however we are looking for people who can also be set up to work from home.
Access Innovation Media (Ai-Media) is a social enterprise delivering access services to media, education and business clients to ensure their content is available to people with hearing and vision impairments. We provide captioning (live and pre-recorded) and audio description services.
The key responsibilities of this position are:
- Operate stenographic captioning equipment to provide captions for live television broadcast for hearing impaired viewers
- Devise stenographic equivalents of new words or terms to add to stenographic glossary
- Review glossary items before broadcast for words and terms that are likely to be used on-air
- Maintain and update stenographic glossary to ensure high quality of live captions.
- Listen to live program dialogue and type stenographic equivalents for words and phrases to provide on-screen captions
- May create transcripts for pre-recorded material
- Ensure all learning and knowledge is shared on real-time Company information systems
We want to hear from people who have:
- Stenocaptioning experience in broadcast environments
- A high level of competency in data management
- Competency in MS Office, and web-based applications
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- The ability to work well in team environments
