Superfast Broadband for all?

Superfast Broadband for all?

Ai-Media strongly supports the Australian Government’s proposed National Broadband Network (NBN) initiative to deliver every house, school and business access to affordable fast broadband.

If built tospec, the new superfast network will:

  • connect homes, schools and workplaces with optical fibre, providing Australians in urban and regional towns with broadband speeds of 100 megabits per second
  • use next generation wireless and satellite technologies to deliver at least 12 megabits to people living in remote Australia
  • provide fibre optic transmission links connecting cities, major regional centres and rural towns
  • be Australia’s first national wholesale-only, open access broadband network.

The NBN will help achieve the aims of the National Disability Strategy to deliver access, inclusion and participation for all.
